Club Identity and Ethos

We offer swim coaching and competition to all levels and ages with the aim of inspiring individuals to "be the best they can be". We achieve this by providing a secure and supportive swimming environment where everyone is valued and encouraged to work together to achieve their goals.  Our club pathway is progressive and we provide opportunities for our swimmers to compete when they are ready and without pressure.  Research has shown that children who embrace swimming at a young age tend to live healthier lifestyles as they grow into adulthood.

Pushing young swimmers (<13 years old) to compete at the county, regional, or even national level can sometimes have a long-term detrimental impact.  While competing at a very high level is a great achievement for a young swimmer, what is required to get there is many hours of time in the pool.

Our training plathway offers an elite program which will encourage and support the minority who are prepared to do all it takes to reach the highest levels of swimming.  However, most children stop enjoying the sport when pushed that far, and when they get to be teenagers, they leave the sport completely.  At Carlisle Aquatics, we are proud that we retain the majority of our swimmers all the way up to and through university age. We will try and help you balance the demands of school work, exams, other activites with your swim training.

What we ask of our swimmers is to show up to training with a positive attitude, dedication to their own development and great team spirit. We ask parents to encourage their children and reinforce the life skills that they will learn in their time at the club.
